Forehead Injury Compensation

How much forehead injury compensation can I expect for a large scar on my forehead? I had 30 stiches following a car crash for which the other driver accepted responsibility, but after consulting an online claims calculator it looks like I won’t get much.

Learning how much forehead injury compensation you are likely to receive is an important part of the decision process, and it is important that the preliminary estimation you get is accurate. Consulting an online calculator would not be the best way to find out the correct amount of compensation you could receive, as they do not take individual circumstances into account.

Although forehead injury compensation may initially appear to be low, you should be aware that your age and sex will have considerable significance on the amount of compensation you can claim. Young accident victims will qualify for more compensation as they need to live with any facial disfigurement for a longer length of time, and women would usually receive a markedly higher claim amount due to the higher importance that women place on their appearance.

Emotional trauma also needs to be included in a claim for forehead injury compensation, along with any medical expenses – plastic surgery, for example. How much compensation you can claim will also be determined by the visible scarring. Many accident victims who wish to pursue a claim may be discouraged by inaccuracies in the calculation of the amount of compensation that can be claimed. You would, therefore, be well advised to have your claim properly assessed by an experienced personal injury solicitor who can provide you with an accurate claim evaluation.

You should also be aware that even if the negligent party accepts blame you may not be guaranteed to receive forehead injury compensation or that you will receive your full entitlement to compensation for your injuries from the negligent party’s insurance company. To explain, a driver involved in an accident may immediately accept blame at the scene, however, feelings of guilt may have faded by the time that a claim for forehead injuries is made. At this stage, when faced with a rise in his or her insurance premiums, a negligent driver may decide to contest your claim. Once your claim is contested, the likelihood of success is decreased and the presence of an experienced solicitor can make a big difference to the end result.

Bear in mind, though, that before the amount of compensation can be considered; it must first be determined that you qualify to claim forehead injury compensation. By speaking with a solicitor, this will be determined after a comprehensive evaluation of your case – including consultation with medical experts as to the permanency and severity of your injury. Only then can your maximum entitlement for a forehead injury be correctly calculated.
